In November of 2012, Nicholas Modico, our only child was diagnosed at age 21 with a rare, pediatric bone cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma. Nick fought the valiant fight, but sadly passed away on March 21st, 2014, three weeks after his 23rd birthday.
Nick was a graduate of Seton School, Kennedy Catholic High School and Boston College, having completed his degree in Finance while battling cancer. He was known among his friends for his lust for life, capitalizing on every moment, always with his beautiful smile and ever-present sense of humor.
About a month before Nick died, he asked that we continue to help people. He said, “That is what I always tried to do.” To honor Nick’s wish, we ask that you help us by donating a pint of blood. Blood donations afforded Nick the opportunity to spend some additional, precious weeks with his family and friends. There is no greater gift.
With gratitude,
Mary Ellen & Kenneth Modico
