Legislation has been introduced in the New York State Legislature that would allow doctors to legally prescribe a lethal dose of pills at the request of a terminally ill patient. While proponents call these bills “death with dignity” and “patient selfdetermination,” in reality they are unnecessary, flawed and dangerous. As in past years, parishioners are invited to make donations for our Church Greens, Plants and Flowers which will honor our Lord, Mary and the Saints and decorate our church during the Easter season.
Our parish will not be conducting the 2017 Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal. We are in the very early stages of a capital campaign that will seek to raise fund for some very exciting and much-needed parish-wide initiatives.
Sister Gabriel has announced her retirement after 50 years in our school, 45 years as our principal. We will mark this event and celebrate Sister’s contribution to our school and parish at a special Mass to be celebrated on Trinity Sunday, June 11th at 3:00pm.

Our St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish youth (ages 7th grade and up) will be assembling Easter baskets again this year for the children of needy local families. Our baskets will be delivered to St. Mary’s Community Food Pantry, Peekskill Community Action Program (PCAP), and Hudson Valley Community Services (HVCS). We are looking for donations by April 9 (items may be given to your child’s religious education catechist or dropped in a collection bin at the Religious Education office).
The Solemnity of Saint Joseph has been transferred to Monday, March 20th this year to allow for the celebration of the Third Sunday of Lent on Sunday, March 19th.
The Cardinal’s Office has announced a dispensation from abstaining from meat on the Solemnity of Saint Patrick this year, inasmuch as this feast day falls on a Friday of Lent in 2017.
